Senior CTEi Electrical student Jordan Adu, a Skyview and Northwest graduate, is the captain for coach Frank Mooney’s LHS ice hockey team this year and one of the top players on the team.
“He is willing to play whatever position the team needs,” Mooney said. “He is a good skater with a strong shot. He is our captain this season and does a good job of leading by example both on and off the ice.”
Jordan started playing ice hockey when he was nine years old.
“I had enjoyed watching the sport at a young age,” Jordan said. “I started off playing ball hockey (for) a couple years and started playing ice hockey (after that).”
(What I like most about ice hockey is) “I enjoy the feeling of scoring goals and setting teammates up to score goals,” Jordan said.
Jordan also likes being a part of the LHS ice hockey team.
“I enjoy bonding with my team in the locker room before, during and after games and practices,” Jordan said.
Jordan said his game has grown, particularly on the mental side, under the direction of Coach Mooney.
“Coach Mooney has taught me to play with confidence,” Jordan said.
After graduation, Jordan plans on attending college and majoring in Physical Education. Here at LHS, Jordan has been a member of the outdoor track team the past two years.
Jordan said has gotten a lot of the academic and vocational classes has taken at LHS/CTEi.
“All of my teachers have been great,” Jordan said. “But school would not be school without Ms. Beaulac, Mr. Gollinger and all of my teachers I have had throughout high school.”
Outside of school, Jordan enjoys hanging out with his friends and supporting them at their sporting events.
