Blue Devil Athlete Spotlight: Cristhian Mojica Garcia (Boys' Volleyball)

Senior boys’ volleyball standout Cristhian Mojica Garcia has lived in Leominster for four years after moving from Puerto Rico.   Cristhian is a first-year volleyball player who was introduced to the sport of volleyball by his sister.

Cristhian said despite being new to the sport, he really enjoys it and also enjoys being a part of the LHS team.

“I love when everyone does the impossible to keep the ball in the air,” Cristhian said.  “Everyone on the team is different but everyone looks for the same thing,” Cristhian said about his teammates.  “They all want to improve.”

Cristhian also said he has learned a lot in a short time from his coach, John Antonetti.

“Getting the team together to reflect on the things we did in the game is something that's supposed to happen all the time,” said Cristhian.

After graduation, Cristhian said he is eager to pursue his many interests.

“Barbering, medicine, real estate and passive investments,” Cristhian said when asked what his passions for the future were.  “I would like to keep playing the sport but I don't know how much free time I would have because after high school, I'm going to an academy of barbering and after that I'm going to study medicine.”

Here at LHS, Cristhian said his favorite class is Honor Principles of Engineering and his favorite teacher is Ms. Friberg.

Outside of school, Cristhian enjoys barbering, medicine, cooking, fixing cars, playing sports and going to the gym.
